Psycho-educational Evaluations
A Psycho-educational Evaluation consists of specialized assessment tools aimed at identifying a student’s ability to learn. Often time’s Psycho-educational evaluations are conducted for students who are struggling in school and are used to identify and diagnose Learning Disabilities, and other deficits in learning such as ADHD. Psycho-educational Evaluations are also utilized to identify students who qualify for Gifted Programs.
Psycho-educational Evaluations provide important information about how a student learns. It also provides important information about strengths and weaknesses in an individual’s learning style. This information is then used as a guide for making recommendations about which teaching, remediation, and compensatory strategies will be most effective for a student.
Psychoeducational evaluations are also used to determine if an individual is eligible for receiving special accommodations during standardized testing, including the SATs, ACTs, and Advanced Placement (AP) exams
